Skin Cancer Surgery

General Surgery

At the Queensland Institute of Dermatology, we perform minor surgery for all type of skin cancers. Melanoma, Squamous Cell Carcinomas (SCCs) and Basal Cell Carcinomas (BCCs), as well as any other skin cancers minor procedures, are performed in our Brisbane clinic. For more complex surgeries, our specialists may refer you to a Mohs or a plastic surgeon.

Sometimes, a small biopsy or sample of the tumour is taken at the initial consultation to confirm skin cancer or melanoma diagnosis. This is particularly likely if the nature of the tumour is not certain after clinical examination.

When complex surgery is required, you may be referred to one of our surgical Dermatologists who have surgical lists at an inpatient facility, or if necessary, referred on to a plastic surgeon.
